DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Wilfrid Jean Louis\nhosted by AURAS\nAbstract: Wilfrid
Jean Louis | AURAS Survey 2026: The PhD and Postdoc Experience at ISTATh
e AURAS 2026 survey gathered feedback from more than 220 PhD students and
postdocs at ISTA\, 45% of the institute’s PhD students participated. The
survey explored different aspects of the experience at ISTA\, including r
esearch and working environments\, workload and well-being\, teaching and
 courses\, career development\, workplace safety\, institutional support\,
representation\, and track communities. In this colloquium\, AURAS will p
resent the main findings of the survey\, highlighting both positive aspect
s of the institute experience and areas where students and postdocs see op
portunities for improvement. The presentation will also discuss difference
s across tracks and identify themes that emerged across the institute as a
  whole.

ee—a casual\, one-hour meetup (quarterly) for anyone at ISTA interested
 in cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM)\, cryo-electron tomography (cryo-ET)
\, or related topics. Whether you work directly with these techniques\, de
velop computational methods\, tackle inverse problems\, or are simply curi
ous\, this is an opportunity to connect with others\, exchange ideas\, and
find potential collaborations. We will be happy to welcome biologists\, m
 athematicians\, computer scientists\, physicists\, chemists\, and basicall
y anyone interested in cryo. More info in the registration link. The progra
m includes a short talk followed by a Mini Poster session to share fresh i
deas—not finished projects. This is a perfect opportunity to get early fe
edback from colleagues. Consider signing up for the casual A4 poster\, it
is a great ice breaker that sparks fruitful discussions.

DESCRIPTION:Speaker: ISTA Sustainability Day - Sofia Pazzagli\nhosted by Je
roen Dobbelaere\nAbstract: ISTA Sustainability DayThe first ISTA Sustaina
bility Day aims to bring together people from all research fields to exch
ange ideas and discuss how sustainability can be better integrated into re
search\, teaching\, and operations at ISTA. The program will feature Sofia
Pazzagli who transitioned her research to include more sustainable resear
ch practices. After a short break we will have a panel discussion with IST
A scientists sharing what has worked—and what hasn’t—in their own ef
forts. The afternoon will conclude with a World Café session with externa
l experts\, encouraging open exchange and collaborative ideas on concrete
actions ISTA can take toward a more sustainable future. REGISTRATION (htt
