DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Marcus Huber\nhosted by Maksym Serbyn\nAbstract: Abstr
act:Fluctuations are a fundamental part of all physics related to irrevers
ible processes. As we zoom in and look at more fundamental constituents\,
these fluctuations are increasingly relevant for the thermodynamics of qua
ntum systems and in consequence to the fundamental limits of quantum engin
eering. Focusing on the paradigmatic task of timekeeping\, I will elucidat
e how fluctuations come into play and how quantum coherence can actually b
e leveraged to exponentially beat some well established classical limits.
