DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Didier Stainier\nAbstract: My lab investigates questio
 ns related to organogenesis including cell\ndifferentiation\, tissue morph
 ogenesis\, organ homeostasis and function\, as\nwell as organ regeneration
 . We study these questions in zebrafish as well\nas in mouse and are curre
 ntly looking at several mesodermal (heart\,\nvasculature) and endodermal (
 pancreas\, lung\, liver) organs. We utilize\nboth forward and reverse gene
 tic approaches\, and aim to dissect cellular\nprocesses using high-resolut
 ion live imaging. One goal of our studies is to\ngain understanding of ver
 tebrate organ development at the single-cell\nlevel\, and beyond. This tal
 k will focus on cardiac development and\nfunction.
