DESCRIPTION:hosted by Matthew Robinson\nAbstract: We invite you to join us
in the beautiful city of Vienna\, Austria for the seventh International Co
nference of Quantitative Genetics from 22-26 July 2024.ICQG7 will bring t
ogether researchers with a focus on theory and methodological development.
We aim to represent the full range of applications of quantitative geneti
cs – from plants\, crops and trees to livestock to humans including comm
on disease\, to wild populations and laboratory model species. The conferen
ce provides a forum to highlight novel\, principled statistical approaches
which may be relevant to the problems faced across a range of application
 s. In the genomics era the integration of quantitative genetics theory acr
oss species applications is converging\, and new quantitative trait phenot
ypes such as single cell gene expression are being studied. This represent
s an exciting time for understanding and translating the contribution of g
enetic variation of quantitative traits. We aim to focus on the presentatio
n and discussion of state-of-the-art results\, theoretical developments an
d new methodologies\, and we will prioritise unpublished research. There w
ill be time for discussion after each talk and to foster informal interact
ions among scientists of all career stages. We will seek a conference prog
ram includes a diverse range of speakers and discussion leaders from insti
tutions and organizations worldwide. The conference is five days long and h
eld in a single location\, with the hope of creating lasting collaboration
 s. In addition to invited talks\, speakers will be selected from submitted
abstracts\, and the conference has designated time for poster sessions fr
om individuals of all career stages.
