DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Terence Hwa\nAbstract: Exponentially growing E. coli c
ells follow a number of growth laws which coordinate gene\nexpression with
the need for growth and metabolism. In this talk\, I will describe\nexper
imental work that establish these laws\, and the theory of bacterial growt
h control\nemerging from the laws. The theory will be applied to study the
surprising effect of\nantibiotics on bacterial growth.
