DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Anton Zeilinger\nAbstract: Information plays a central
  role both in understanding quantum mechanics and as a\nfield of possible 
 applications. With reference to concrete experiments I will review\nthe fu
 ndamental phenomena in quantum physics from an information perspective:\nq
 uantum superposition\, quantum entanglement and objective randomness. And 
 I\nwill show how these fundamental concepts are applied in various quantum
 \ninformation protocols like quantum communication\, quantum teleportation
  and\nquantum computation. I will then discuss recent fundamental experime
 nts made\npossible by the technological development in quantum information
  science\, which\nshed new light again on the foundations of quantum physi
 cs. In the talk\, I will also\ntry to venture into musings about possibili
 ties for application in biological systems.
