DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Li-Huei Tsai\nhosted by Sandra Siegert\nAbstract: Gamm
a oscillations arise from the resonating activation of local circuits comp
rised of excitatory and fast spiking inhibitory neurons. Impaired gamma os
cillations have been observed in both mouse models and human subjects with
Alzheimer's disease. Using a noninvasive visual flicker stimulation proto
col\, we enhanced gamma oscillations and found that it ameliorated Alzheim
er's disease pathology. I will discuss the potential mechanisms and effect
s of gamma oscillations on cognitive behavior.\n
