DESCRIPTION:hosted by Gianluca Favre\, Lorenzo Portinale and Bao Quoc Tang\
 nAbstract: Organisers: Gianluca Favre (https://www.mat.univie.ac.at/~favr
 e/) (University of Vienna)Lorenzo Portinale (http://pub.ist.ac.at/~lporti
 na/) (IST - Austria)Bao Quoc Tang (https://baotangquoc.wordpress.com/publ
ications/) (University of Graz)Description of the workshop: The study of
gradient flows (GF)\, kinetic models for reactive gases (KM)\, as well as
reaction-diffusion systems (RDS) have experienced dramatic progress recen
tly. These research topics are complementary\, yet overlapping\, and there
have been more and more works showing their close connections. For instan
ce\, the study diffusive limit for kinetics systems of reactive gases give
s a derivation of RDS with mass action kinetics\; or the global well-posed
ness of a large class of RDS becomes feasible thanks to formal GF structur
es constructed for those systems. The same theory of generalised gradient-
flow structures found applications in many discrete models satisfying det
ailed-balance conditions\, including chemical reactions systems\, such as
the chemical master equation\, the chemical Langevin dynamics\, and the re
action-rate equation. Therefore\, it is only natural to bring together exp
erts in these respective fields to discuss recent advances as well as to s
trengthen the existing connections\, and this is the main aim of the works
hop. This workshop is also a good opportunity for young researchers to exp
and their potential and to build up possible future collaboration.  List
