DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Johanna Ivaska\nhosted by Michael Sixt\nAbstract: We a
re interested in understanding how integrins contribute to cancer cell mig
ration\, invasion\, tumour-stroma crosstalk and other processes that promo
te cancer progression. Current projects in the lab focus on finding novel
regulators of integrin activity\, understanding the endo/exosomal traffic
of integrins and how cancer cells sense their microenvironment\, where bio
physical cues from the stroma determine cancer cell fate. This talk will b
e about about our recent unpublished work on MASTL regulating the cytoskel
eton through SRF/MRTF and GEFH-1 and SHANK-mediated regulation of the acti
 n cytoskeleton and adhesion turnover.
