Transferring scientific data to science journalism. What could possibly go wrong?
A broad overview of trying to find exciting data, extract them, and transfer them to a journalistic report or even story. Excursions on predatory journals, quality (criteria) of statistical parameters, and the difference between correlation and causality.
Sigrid will share examples of diagrams and illustrations published in journalistic (and less journalistic) texts and news items. Learn what it means to work as a fact-checker in journalism and find out what is wrong or even manipulative about what is presented. Feel free to bring your own examples if you know of any!
