The talk discusses Majorana bound states in hybrid semiconductor-superconducting system and the predicted ability to store quantum information nonlocally. Both the experimental status of field as well as ideas for how to demonstrate the nonlocal and nonabelian nature of these novel degrees of freedom will be covered.
