The entrepreneurial route as a career choice is still daunting for many scientists. It was and still is for the speaker as well. Doing your own thing has its risks, sure - and tremendous perks. The talk will cover a little bit of a prelude story and technology background and will mainly focus on how to make the transition from scientist to entrepreneur - pitfall anecdotes included.
Michael Lukesch studied Chemistry, Biochemistry and Biotechnology in Graz with stints to the US and Australia. In spring 2017 he co-founded Valanx Biotech and is currently busy finishing his dissertation as well as building a biotech start-up. Valanx Biotech develops technology to enable improved protein drugs and is a start-up very early on in its journey.
